BURNOUT

In the modern world, many people are suffering from burnout which is a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion. Burnout is caused by excessive and prolonged stress but it should not be considered equal to  stress. People experiencing burnout generally feel overwhelmed and emotionally exhausted  and as a result, they lose their perspective. They may struggle with heavy responsibility or they may not see any hope or positive change in their personal life or work life. However, burnout can be prevented if the right steps are taken.

First of all, people who are aware of the symptoms of burn out, should begin to control their own lives. They must get organized and reevaluate their goals and priorities. In that way, they do not need to get panicked and worried about their duties. Taking time to think about hopes, goals, and dreams is not only useful in reducing instant stress levels but also in focusing on the future. If they prioritize their goals and assess them, they will realize how much effort is enough to achieve their goals. Sometimes people over do it  and work too much. In addition to these, unrealistic expectations also lead to burnout. People  should figure out when enough is enough.

Another way to overcome burnout would be to give time to relax. People experiencing burnout may start the day with a relaxing ritual and get ready for the coming day. In addition, it would be a good idea if they took a break from their lessons or work when they felt exhausted. Technology and social media are other factors which cause anxiety. When those people give themselves time away from work, news and technology, they can be relaxed and they can recharge their batteries. Besides short breaks, the best ways to relax are  to go on vacation or develop interests and hobbies outside the office-home cycle. In these ways, people have an opportunity to gain a different perspective or a purpose of life.

Thirdly, burnout can be solved by adopting a healthy lifestyle. People should avoid too much caffeine and unhealthy food; especially fast food. Instead, they can prepare home-cooked meals to eat in the office and drink more water and less coffee. Sleeping is another significant factor in decreasing the effects of burnout. People who are tired after a long day at work , should get  sufficient night sleep to get ready for the next frustrating day. Furthermore, regular exercise is another cornerstone. According to research, people who do regular exercise are less likely to be affected by burnout.  As we know, weekdays are tiring. We cannot change that fact but we can get ready for them as far as possible.

To sum up, burnout is a serious mental problem in todays society. Every day, more and more people begin suffering from burnout as a result of the tiring pace of life. However, when people organize their life well, give themselves time to relax and adopt a healthy lifestyle, it will be easy to prevent  burnout. People should not forget that life is hard but not impossible to overcome.
