BOSSES


    Pursuing happiness in business life is a hard but also significant issue. Workplace atmosphere may be demotivating or motivating depending on the manager’s attitude. There is a critical number of employees who give up their jobs due to problems with their bosses. While some managers provide the employees with a good workplace, many managers could lead employees to be demotivated. There are a lot of differences between good and bad bosses.
    A motivating boss admits it when s/he is wrong. S/he never blames the employees for a mistake that s/he has made. Good bosses emphasize the employee’s ideas. They follow up these ideas before the company starts planning a new project. Moreover, they communicate directly and specifically with the employees, which is very important for the motivation of the employees. Because they can share the challenges they encounter, they feel more motivated. In addition, good bosses support employee development by giving frequent praise for the accomplishments of the company. Thus, they encourage the employees to be successful and also provide them with a peaceful and comfortable working area.
    A demotivating boss never admits his or her failure. S/he thinks that if there is a mistake, the employees possibly made it and s/he is always right. Demotivating bosses have poor listening and communication skills. For example, let’s suppose that an employee wants to share his or her ideas with the boss. When s/he realizes that the boss does not listen to him or her, s/he feels unimportant, which discourages him or her considerably. Demotivating bosses do not support employee development. They take all the credit for themselves and do not care about the employee’s ideas. In addition, even if employees have done a good job, demotivating bosses never praise them. Therefore, the employees feel discouraged.
    In conclusion, workplace atmosphere is really significant for the employees. The bosses have an important role in creating a workplace the employees feel happy in. A good boss encourages the employees to do good work and provides them with a motivating workplace while a bad boss usually discourages the employees and provides them with a demotivating and also comfortless workplace.
