Bullying is deliberate behavior affecting
the whole life of each person. It is the act of harming a preteen or a teen via technology
and is usually perpetrated by the individual’s peers. In the contemporary
world, with the entry of the internet, bullying has changed its form. The new
form is cyber bullying. Cyber bullying is torment or torture using the internet,
interactive and digital technologies. But what are the results of this intentional behavior? How does it affect
victims?
First of all,
owing to the scope of the internet, a mention or a voice recording can reach the entire world. Therefore, a few minutes are enough to humiliate, insult
and taunt a person. Then, the victim's life becomes a nightmare. He/she may start to cry
constantly, stay at home, be a depressive and anxious person. Like Amanda Todd,
this victim also looks for a person who is reliable. Unfortunately, if she cannot
find the person,
the outcome can be trying to commit suicide. This means that he chooses death
to living which means that he has given
up his dreams and his future.
Secondly, a person who is
attacked by a cyber
bully can become a diffident and unsocial person. This shyness could be the cause
of missed opportunities. Whereas he could be a successful and happy person, he
is only able to witness others' success, not his own success. Thus, his life ends
up becoming meaningless.
To sum up, bullying
has changed its form. It has become cyber bullying which is the act of harming
via the internet. This meaningless and humiliating torture has been affecting all
victims’ lives. They can even think about killing themselves. Even if they do
not think about suicide, their lives can become their
nightmares. To solve this issue, every single person should empathize and notice that
nobody is perfect. The only thing we must do is embrace our weakness and start
to accept everyone with their mistakes, not taunt them.
