THE ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF SMARTPHONES

The development of cell phone technology gives people crucial opportunties to use small gadgets which include tv’s, computers, and music players. People define these smart gadgets  as ‘smart phones’ and use them widely. People like smart phones and think they are very useful and essential for people because of their great benefits. Despite the fact that smart phones offer many advantages, there are lots of disadvantages associated with overuse as well.

Owing a smart phone gives people essential opportunuties. The first advantage is that they are really convenient since people can carry them easily and use them like books and computers. Moreover, some of the smart phones can be used like remote controls if the tv and the phone are adaptable to each other. Easy access to the internet  is another advantage of smart phones., people can search the internet and read the documents related to what they are researching. These qualities of smart phones provide people with opportunities  to use the internet no matter where they are if there is wi-fi. Access to Social networks are the other advantage of owning a smart phone especially if people have relatives who live abroad. It is expensive to call people  in foreign countries, so people use social Networks such as; whats up, facebook, and viber to communicate with their relatives.

Although owning a smart phone offers advantages, it also offers disadvantages that must be considered. Smartphones reduce people’s concentration while they are at work and at school because people want to check their phones every second and they can’t pay complete attention to their work and lessons. Health problems are a tremendous disadvantage for the users. Smartphones release radiation which damages the  brain and causes several kinds of cancer. Moreover, some of the studies show that too much exposure to smartphone screens ruins people’s sleep. The last disadvantage is that batteries run out because smartphones use a lot of electricity, batteries run out immediately. Therefore, people must always carry their charger. In short, there is a darker side to the rosy picture.

 With the development of communucation devices humans obtained smartphones whose rate of usage is increasing year by year. Most smartphone users are satisfied with their phones because they are multifunctional. . Humans must think carefully about the advantages and disadvantages of smartphones and use them sensibly.
