Vaccination can be defined as the injection of weak
disease-causing agents that help the body develop immunity. According to this
definition, vaccination seems like an essential contribution to human health;
however, that is not the whole story. Today, this topic has become a disputed
issue among authorities: whether vaccination is as innocent as it seems or not
is once more being debated. While some scientists believe that vaccination is
necessary for maintaining public health, the others argue that individuals have
a right to control their own bodies. As far as I am concerned, mandatory
vaccination is a dangerous and unfeasible policy which is implemented by the
governments.
Those
who think that mandatory vaccination should not be a government policy claim that vaccination might cause diseases such as
autism. This argument is so serious that recent research shows that one
out of every hundred kids suffers from autism in USA due to erroneous
vaccination techniques. Moreover, not only children but also parents are
affected in a bad way by autism. This disease is a really difficult situation
for most parents psychologically and materially. As a result, governments’
bottom line is the dollar, parents’ bottom line is their children.
Those
who agree that compulsory vaccination should not be implemented by the
government maintain that parents should have a say in their kids’ health. They
are totally right. After all, who knows the children better the government or
the parents? Of course, the parents. If
someone is a mom and if she is educated and she does not want her kid to be
vaccinated, she should have that choice. Yes, she is not a doctor yet she has a
brain.
However,
those who disagree that mandatory vaccination should not be implemented by the
government assert that vaccination prevents disease outbreaks for future
generations. It is the most crucial task of vaccination and to a certain extent
they are right. On the other hand, governments had better think about today’s
generation instead of future generations since there is a problem about
vaccination today which the government should come to grips with.
To
cut a long story short, based upon the aforesaid ideas, there have been many
moot points that have turned scientists against each other concerning compulsory
vaccination. I firmly believe that vaccination is russian roulette really
because a host of children today tragically die due to vaccination. In spite of
these arguments, it seems to me that this dilemma will continue to be discussed
for a long time in medical science.
